Leader Body Chair Message – March 2025

Dearest NY Metro Community Members,

My name is Craig Azoff, and I have been selected by the Leader Body of NY Metro Tri-State to serve as Leader Body Chair for 2025 and 2026. I step into this role with humility and gratitude, honored that men I admire and respect have entrusted me with their support and leadership.

You might be asking yourself: Who are these men? What is the Leader Body? What does the Leader Body actually do?

Since this is my first message in the new NY Metro Community newsletter, I want to introduce you to your Leader Body. Our current Leader Body consists of 27 incredible men who have chosen to take on leadership roles within our New Warrior Training Adventures (NWTA). This group includes:

  • Leaders in Training (LITs) – 11
  • Co-Leader Candidates (CLCs) – 5
  • Co-Leaders – 2
  • Full Leader Candidates (FLCs) – 5
  • Full Leaders – 1
  • Grounding and Renewal Leaders – 1
  • Ritual Elders – 2

Our Executive Committee oversees this group, consisting of:

  • Myself, Craig Azoff, as Chair
  • Ted Freedman, Administrator
  • Stan Cohen, Hot Seat and Certification Coordinator
  • Chris Bailey, Leader Recruiter and Mentor
  • A currently open position for Training and Site Coordinator

These 27 men meet regularly to discuss NWTA logistics (leader teams, locations, schedules, registration, costs, budgets, etc.), MKP USA policies, community events, relationships with other communities, Council updates, mentoring, additional trainings, and Hot Seats—where men engage in peer-led questioning to assess their leadership roles or progress to the next level.

If you’re interested in observing a meeting or considering leadership in an NWTA, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d love to connect with you.

About Our Community & Upcoming Events

By now, many of you know that our March NWTA was canceled due to low enrollment. As the CLC-on-point for that weekend, my heart aches. I was looking forward to experiencing the love, connection, and deep service that comes with guiding new brothers through this transformational journey. These weekends make me whole. And so does this community!

While NWTAs are vital to my personal growth, so are the men of NY Metro Tri-State. MKP is not just about the NWTA—it’s about authentic, empowered men leading and supporting each other in their lives and communities.

Filling an NWTA isn’t just the job of staff men reaching out three or four months before a weekend. It requires an engaged community sharing their gifts and gold every day! I ask you, are you living your mission in a way that inspires others to want what you have?

In May, we have a Young Warrior Training Adventure coming up. This is a powerful opportunity for young men to experience the same transformation we have. We need your help—talk to the young men in your life about what this community means to you and how it can profoundly impact their future. Be your glorious self and show them what’s possible.

Additionally, we have community events in the works, and my vision is to see hundreds of us showing up—to hug, support, connect, speak, and plan for our shared future. Stay tuned for announcements from our Council and choose to show up!

My Commitment to You

As Leader Body Chair, my role is to organize, support, lead, and plan all things NWTA and training-related for our NY Metro Tri-State community, alongside 26 dedicated men. But my bigger mission is to work with your Council to empower, mentor, grow, and inspire our entire community.

We are all leaders, and we all have a seat at the table. Pull up a chair and help us foster a new way of being as NY Metro!

With deep love,
Craig Azoff
